Bisher läuft die zu Sonys Reader gehörige eBook Library nur unter Microsoft Windows. Das ist ein Wurm im Apfel, der Macianern massives Gejammer zu entlocken scheint, denn jetzt soll die Software auch auf Apfelrechnern lauffähig werden.

Auf MobileRead wurde eine Reaktion des Sony Ebook-Stores veröffentlicht:

Dear Fellow Reader,
Attention Mac users! We’ve received many requests to make the eBook Store work with Apple® Macintosh® computers, and we wanted to share with you our progress on this front.
An updated version of the eBook Library Software compatible with Mac OS X operating systems will be available by the end of Summer 2009 for download to your computer to enable you to purchase, organization and download content to your PRS505 and PRS700.

Demnach sollen alle Kernobstfans zum Ende des Sommers, und dem Ende der Ferien, hihi, mit einer eBook Library beglückt werden, die ihnen das Beziehen, Verwalten und Überspielen von E-Books auf den Sony PRS505 und PRS700 erlaubt. Wer Sony seine eMail gibt, wird sofort benachrichtigt, wenn die Software gereift ist.
